2027 Global Award for Sustainable Architecture

The 20th edition of the Global Award for Sustainable Architecture launches today, on World Architecture Day, under the theme 'Architecture Is Equity'. This theme explores the role of architecture as a catalyst for democratic engagement, social cohesion, and equity.

The Award invites all architects, designers, urban and landscape professionals worldwide to submit entries for built or studied projects, or for work related to research, writing, and experimentation that demonstrates innovation, design quality, and a significant contribution to achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Endorsed by the UIA since 2024, the Award was created in 2006 by architect and researcher Jana Revedin to honour architects, urban planners, and landscape designers worldwide who distinguish themselves through their commitment to sustainability.

Each year, two Global Award laureates from previous editions who are experts on the chosen theme are invited to join the jury. For 'Architecture Is Equity', the Award welcomes:

Participation 

The Global Award for Sustainable Architecture, endorsed by the UIA, recognises a nominee's professional, scientific, and socio-political engagement rather than single projects. Participation is open to all architects, urban and landscape designers worldwide, and submissions must be written in English.
