Renzo Piano - nota biograficzna
Renzo Piano urodził się w Genui w 1937 r. w rodzinie budowlańców. Obecnie mieszka w Paryżu, ale ze swoim rodzinnym miastem czuje się związany sentymentalnie i kulturowo.
Studiował na Politechnice Milan i jednocześnie pracował już w pracowni Franco Albini. Po ukończeniu politechniki w1964 r. rozpoczął pracę z eksperymentalnymi lekkimi strukturami i najprostszymi schronami.
Między 1965 a 1970 rokiem intensywnie podróżował po Ameryce i Brytanii zdobywając doświadczenia.
W 1971 roku wraz z Richardem Rogersem założył studio Piano&Rogers i wspólnie wygrali konkurs na Centrum Pompidou w Paryżu.
Do lat 90. pracował z inżynierem Peterem Rice, współtworząc Atelier Piano&Rice.
W 1981 powstało Renzo Piano Building Workshop, które obecnie zatrudnia ponad sto osób pracujących w Paryżu, Genui i Nowym Jorku.
